If it’s competition you crave, the POAC offers Halter, Longeline, Pleasure Driving, JPFC, Adult Non Pro, Walk/Trot Division and the 19 & Over Program to allow opportunities for adults to compete.
The Junior PonyFuturity Classic Program (JPFC) was originally developed for adults to train and show nominated junior ponies to help provide nice well-broke ponies for our youth. JPFC classes are held throughout the year at local, regional, and classic shows as well as at the International Show. Each fall, the POA International Futurities are held in conjunction with the POA International Sale. The Futurity classes offered for ponies ages two, three, four and five are Western Pleasure, Hunter Under Saddle, and Trail. Reining is offered for ponies ages three, four, and five. This program has developed into a highly competitive program where adults can showcase their training and competitive skills.
The 19 and Over Program is a program developed for adults of all ages and skills to be able to compete on any age pony. The 19 and Over classes offered are Western Pleasure, Hunter Under Saddle, Trail, Reining, Showmanship, Western Horsemanship and Hunt Seat Equitation. The addition of this program further fosters the POAC family atmosphere allowing adults to show alongside their youth, as well as a place for youth who have graduated from the breed to be able to continue to show their ponies at POAC approved shows.
The Adult Non Pro Program was developed to provide qualifying adults the opportunity to exhibit their POA in a fitting environment that promotes growth, development and confidence. The Adult Non Pro Program is open to any POAC adult member who meets program requirements. The Adult Non Pro Program offers Walk/Trot and 3-Gait Divisions with Western Pleasure, Hunter Under Saddle and Trail being offered in both divisions. Adult Non Pro guidelines and applications can be downloaded from the forms & downloads page under the resources tab on our website www.poac.org.
The POAC Walk Trot Division is a program that provides a youth or adult the opportunity to exhibit their POA in an environment that also promotes growth, development and confidence. The Walk Trot Division Program can be split into two age groups 18 & Under and 19 & Over. Walk Trot Division classes offered for both 18 & Under and 19 & Over are W/T Western Pleasure, W/T Western Horsemanship, W/T Trail, W/T Hunter Under Saddle and W/T Hunt Seat Equitation. The full list of program guidelines and restrictions can be downloaded from our forms & downloads page under the resources tab on our website www.poac.org.
